LBFA Donates $2500 to La Crosse Dive Unit

LBFA Members and Friends, with the La Crosse Dive Unit and La Crosse Police Dept.

With perfect weather and a gorgeous setting in the Irish Garden of the Riverside International Friendship Gardens, on May 30, 2024, the La Crosse Bantry Friendship Association presented a check of $2500 to the La Crosse Dive Unit.

Congratulations to the La Crosse Dive Unit on being chosen as our local recipient.*

We thank these volunteers for their life-saving work.

We're grateful for Heather Armstrong and WXOW for their coverage of our event. Thank you to Phil S Addis, Photographer, for such wonderful still images. Click the link below to read the article and view two video clips:

In March 2016, the LBFA held its first Coulee Hoolie Ceili fundraising event. Eight years on, this year we raised $5000! Brilliant! Well done, Members and Friends of the La Crosse Bantry Friendship Association!

The mission of La Crosse-Bantry Friendship Association, Inc. is to promote people-to-people diplomacy between Bantry, Ireland and La Crosse, Wisconsin, and to educate by facilitating exchanges and projects so that people may develop a better understanding of each others' cultures, cities, and countries.

*Equal funds will be donated to Bantry Life Boat at a later date, stay tuned.

NOTE: *One small error in this report: Our Sister City relationship was officially established 19 years ago in 2005, with a handshake AND dual mayoral proclamations.  Indeed, our Coulee Hoolie Ceili fundraising event began 8 years ago.
