It's been quite a year for all of us. Early in 2020 COVID-19 put a halt to our St. Patrick’s Day festivities in La Crosse and shortly thereafter we had to cancel our 5th Annual Coulee Hoolie Ceili. The postponements just continued as the year advanced.
We did get creative though and have found some exciting ways to stay connected and have some good craic!
We went virtual for our meetings, including a virtual election to bring our new board members into the fold.
In June, member Becky Nelson shared her children for an exciting Dance Saturday Afternoon on Facebook.
Our membership committee sparked a new way to connect with our Irish sister, Bantry, by organizing a couple of Meet and Greets to give all our members a chance to connect directly with our friends in Bantry.
Irish Historian Ken Shonk provided an engaging virtual talk for Global Initiatives Week, 100 Years On: Commemorating the Irish Revolution.
We added some cheer to international students studying in La Crosse by contributing to care packages to reduce stress leading up to finals.
And, finally, we wrapped up the year with a virtual toast at our holiday party.
It's been quite a virtual year. We hope to get to see you in person sometime in 2021! We'll certainly be offering more Virtual Meet & Greets with our friends in Bantry for our members and the 2021 Coulee Hoolie Ceili will be a virtual event in March. We are working hard on the details now! Watch for more!
Nollaig shona agus Athbhliain! (Happy Christmas & New Year!)
