The 2nd Annual Coulee Hoolie Ceili was a Success!

Thank You to all who worked so hard to make our 2nd Annual Coulee Hoolie Ceili a success. What a great evening of dance, music, a silent auction and all round good family fun!

This event benefited The La Crosse Area Suicide
Prevention Initiative and Lisheens House in Bantry,
Ireland, La Crosse's sister city's. [read more]
La Crosse Bantry Friendship Association hosted the 2nd annual Coulee Hoolie Ceili, on February 25, 2017. This charity fundraiser was organized to create a twinning with two similar groups, La Crosse Area Suicide Prevention Initiative and Lisheens House (Bantry, Ireland) and to strengthen LBFA's connection to La Crosse's sister city Bantry.

Proceeds of $2,200.00 were raised and shared between the two charities.
Looking back on 2016 and 2017...

Looking back at these last two years, I am amazed at all we have accomplished! First to mention, the city of La Crosse voted to drop the 'Sister City' groups as city committee's, that left us putting in many hours of research, with a final decision/vote to become our own 501C3 non-profit! Congratulations to La Crosse Bantry Friendship Association, Inc.
With lots of meetings and time consuming effort, LBFA start an annual event...the Coulee Hoolie Ceili. This is an event of music and dance, raising funds for some very important community charities and at the same time creating a twining with like-minded groups from our sister city, Bantry. (See below for more details). We are very proud to announce that we have started the planning for the 3rd annual benefit. More detail to come.
In June, LBFA  presented it's first tour to Ireland with over 30 travelers consisting of a delegation of members and community. The group spent three of the 10 days in our beautiful sister city, Bantry. Many from the tour group came to our July potluck and shared their most memorable trip moments.
August we hosted the CEO of Bantry Bay America, Gary Werner and his lovely wife Diana to a long weekend at our local Irishfest, in appreciation of the Bantry Bay Mussels donated yearly.
With a wonderful group of volunteers distributing mussels at Irishfest and ticket sales at Oktoberfest, we end our year financial sound and our volunteers were able to share in two celebration parties for their time and effort. Members also gave time, throughout the year, setting up tables at the UWL International Banquet, La Crosse Farmers Market and at the kick-off of Global Initiative Week, giving us a way to share our groups mission with the La Crosse community.
Finally we end the year with our wonderful fun-filled annual Christmas party. A time for laughs and commeradery.  It truly has been a wonderful couple years of growth and new adventures. The success and growth of LBFA these last two years could not have happened without a fantastic team of members! Thank you again for all that you do!

Please consider joining our LBFA family!
